The Rev. James Sullivan - Pastor
James Sullivan is the husband of Helena Sullivan with whom he has two children, Ruth (9) and Ransom (7). He holds a Master of Arts in Ancient History from Hebrew Union College in Cincinnati, Ohio.
James is a Navy Veteran, having served with the Marine Corps as a Combat Corpsman.
James loves the Bible and the Book of Common Prayer. He enjoys reading fiction aloud with his family, playing board games, cooking, and making wine. James’ theology is influenced by Richard Hooker, Lancelot Andrewes, Martin Thornton, and Hans Boersma. His favorite fiction authors are Anthony Trollope, C.S. Lewis, and J.R.R. Tolkien.
The Rev. Tim Gehrke
Tim Gehrke is the husband of Pamela K. Gehrke. They were married in November of 1984 and are the parents of 7 children (5 sons and 2 daughters), and have 13 grandchildren. Tim studied at Grand Rapids Baptist College and Grand Rapids School of the Bible and Music, where he majored in Aviation Maintenance. He is a federally licensed Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic.
His professional career has included 17 years with American Airlines followed by Nestle Waters NA. He currently works with his son, Samuel, as a Snap-On Tools franchiser.
Tim is dedicated to his church and family, and also enjoys a number of outdoor distractions including hunting, fishing, softball, and golf. We should not neglect to mention that he also loves baseball. Tim loves to read and enjoys the works of John Calvin, Martin Luther and N.T. Wright.
The Rev. Paul D. Cook - Rector Emeritus
Rev. Cook was the pastor of Covenant Church for 20 years from 2001 - 2021. He and his wife, Janet, recently celebrated their 40 anniversary of marriage together. They are the happy parents of nine children and nine grandchildren.
